Troy: Hey. Hello there, everybody. This is Troy with Champion Plumbing out of Eagan, Minnesota. Back behind the camera today, we are in Apple Valley testing a backflow preventer. This is for your sprinkler system usually. This is a pressure vacuum breaker. These are supposed to be tested annually. So these little ports here are for the test gauge and our testing equipment to make sure that they’re working properly.
It is crucial that these get tested every year. We put a lot of chemicals down on our lawn to keep them looking this good. And if your system isn’t working properly, those chemicals could end up back in your water. Please, make sure you’re testing and your neighbors are testing their backflow preventers. This one I already did. Takes just 15 minutes to test it, sending my reports to the city, and we’re out of your hair.
